I have regarded myself as a person with neutral perspective on social issues until I became part of EILER. I feel that I have been more enlightened and empowered.

EILER has taught me to go beyond the desk research; that to immerse with the workers and understand their struggles is more important. Every experience made me a stronger woman.

Being an EILER intern was a fulfilling experience. What I have done and contributed to the organization paved way for my continuous growth and learning not just as a university student but as student of life.

I was given a special opportunity to take part in the institution’s advocacies: I was able to share my creative writing skills and fresh perspectives, while I become more familiar with the labor rights and grievances of workers. Being an EILER research intern encouraged me to join the struggle for social justice.

Ever since I became part of EILER, the institution has enlightened me regarding labor struggles. I was encouraged to go beyond my duties as research intern in  order to understand the situations of the masses.

We did interact and communicate with members of communities to analyze their concrete conditions and what must be done to resolve these issues.

For me, to be part of EILER is an honor.
